1986, the Excellence in Software Awards program was established by the Software
Publishers Association (SPA), now the Software & Information Industry
Association (SIIA), so that the pioneers of the then-nascent software industry
could evaluate and honor each other's work. In 1993, the Excellence in Software
Awards became the Codie Awards (http://www.siia.net/Codies/2007/finalists.asp).
The Codie Awards holds the distinction of being the only peer-recognition awards
program of its kind in the industry, providing a unique opportunity for
companies to earn the praise of their competitors. As SIIA evolves to serve the
needs of its members, the Codie Awards program, now in its twenty-first year,
remains the standard bearer for celebrating outstanding achievement and vision
in the Information Technology industry.
"The 2007 Codie Finalists represent real
winners, even at this stage of the contest", said Ken Wasch, SIIA President.
"Competition is fiercer than ever and that makes selection as a Codie Finalist a
major achievement. All the companies on this year's list should feel
justifiably proud of their recognition.", adds Wasch. The Codie Awards
finalists were announced on January 8, 2007. The Codie Award winners will
be announced on April 17, 2007 at the 22nd Annual Codie Awards Gala being held
in San Francisco, CA.
“We are very excited about
becoming a Codie Awards finalist", says Steve Miller, President/CEO of Pragmatic
Software. "Being recognized by our competition and peers is especially great, as it is a testament to
the robustness, flexibility and adaptability of Software Planner. Becoming
a Codie Awards finalist combined with Software Planner winning the 2006
Testers Choice Award speaks volumes about how our product is being received
in the market place, adds Miller."
